Energy Strategy plan Turkey

When the situation in Turkey is of concern, the Ministry of Energy
of Natural Resources (MENR) published a report entitled “Energy
Strategy Plan 2010-2014”, in which energy efficiency and renewable
energy usage are dealt with their objectives, targets and strategies.
On the other hand, for the scenario analyses, developing some
targets could not be enough. Together with national variables that can have an effect on these analyses, current situation, national strategies and international obligations should be evaluated.Turkey, having fast changing conditions within the energy market,
as a starting point, targets with short term period like 2014 seem
appropriate. However, in order to forecast the future energy
demand as well as needs of investment, 2023 which is the 100th
anniversary of Turkish Republic, as a mid-term and 2050 as a
long-term, scenario analyses should be conducted. By this way,
developed energy scenarios result in accurate and reliable studies
concerning the evaluation of energy efficiency and renewable
energy potentials in Turkey.
